Youth Pastor (Part-Time, 20–25 hrs/week)  

Journey Church is a growing non-denominational church in South Amarillo. We are searching for a passionate, relational, and Christ-centered Youth Pastor to invest in the next generation. We are in an exciting season—our new student wing is underway, our student worship team is growing, and we are primed for significant ministry expansion. This role will begin part-time with a goal of full-time employment as the ministry grows. 

About the Role: The Youth Pastor will lead and shepherd students in grades 7–12, build a healthy volunteer culture, partner with parents, and help students take real next steps with Jesus. This role blends discipleship, outreach, leadership development, and creative ministry strategy. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the student ministry (7th–12th grade) with vision, consistency, and pastoral care.
  • Develop and lead a strong volunteer team—equipping leaders for small groups, worship, events, and discipleship. 
  • Reach local middle schools and high schools through intentional presence, outreach, and missional engagement.  
  • Integrate students into the larger life of Journey Church, helping them serve, worship, and grow alongside the church family.  
  • Build strong relationships with students and parents, creating trust, communication, and partnership.  
  • Plan and lead weekly gatherings, retreats, service opportunities, and student events.  
  • Partner with pastoral staff to support the overall mission and vision of Journey Church. 

Qualifications:

  • A growing, authentic relationship with Jesus and a commitment to Journey Church’s mission and values. 
  • Experience in student ministry (paid or volunteer).
  • Ability to teach Scripture clearly and engagingly for students.
  • Strong relational and communication skills with both students and parents.
  • Leadership ability—especially in motivating volunteers.
  • Musical experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Willingness to learn, grow, and collaborate with pastoral staff. 

Hours & Compensation  

  • 20–25 hours per week  
  • Competitive part-time compensation based on experience  
  • Goal: Full-time role as the ministry continues to grow and the new student wing launches
