Journey Kids: The Mix

StoryTeller:
Lead the children (in the Mix) in an engaging bible story that is pre-prepared and sent out to you a week in advance. The story teller would captivate the kid’s attention for no more than 15 minutes. Must be able to relate to children and stay focused on the story. Training would be provided. This person would also be encouraged to participate in worship with the kids. Opportunities: once a month, once a quarter, once a year. - commit to 3-6 months at a time.

Small Group Leader:
Listen to the large group bible story and lead a small group of kids in discussion questions, and a craft or activity. These questions and activities are provided. Small groups make up 15-20 minutes of our time in Journey Kids. This person would also be encouraged to participate in worship with the kids. Serving Opportunities: once or twice a month, or weekly - commit to 3-6 months at a time.

Technology:
Listen closely to the leader and change the slides on the computer as they speak. This requires minimal training, and does not include one on one engagement with the kids. You will be given a tech sheet that tells you when to change the slides. Must be able to focus on the storyteller. This person would also play the songs for worship. Serving Opportunities: once or twice a month - commit to 3-6 months at a time.

Helping Hand

Help the teachers in the Pre-K, and toddler rooms. We have amazing teachers, we just need helpers. Setting up crafts, cleaning up messes, playing with the kids, singing (badly is ok - they don’t care), dancing, etc. Serving Opportunities: once or twice a month, or as many times as you’d like. - commit to 3-6 months at a time.

Leader

Lead the toddlers, or preschoolers in an engaging bible story (already provided on video for pre-k) and facilitate the small group activities. The activities are pre-prepped and ready for you. They will be emailed a week prior to your serving date. Serving Opportunities: once or twice a month - commit to 3-6 months at a time.

Baby Snuggler

Must love babies and be able to crawl around on the floor with them as they play. They will need bright, smiling faces who share nothing but love to the littlest members of Journey Church. Willingness to change diapers and bottle feed are required.

Serving Opportunities

Once or twice a month (babies need familiar faces) - commit to 3-6 months at a time.

Weekly Prep

This would give all the people who don’t have the patience to work with kids and opportunity to serve. It would involve preparing for Sunday, during the week (Monday - Thursday, your choice on day). Making copies, cutting out pages, gathering supplies, etc. It would take about 2 hours a week. Serving Opportunities: once or twice a month - commit to 3-6 months at a time.

Check in

Welcome families to Journey Kids with a smile. Help them check in their children, print tags and answer any questions they might have. Journey Kids leaders are available to help answer questions. During Covid 19, this person would also help take temperatures. This volunteer would be able to attend the service, but may miss 1-2 worship songs. Training would be provided.
