Care Ministry
Care Ministry
Caring and praying for people is such a vital part of any congregation. Our church, the body of Christ, was created by God to be just that... a body, a family of brothers and sisters in Christ who encourage, support, and pray for one another. (1 Corinthians 12:27)
We serve a generous God! We all have God-given spiritual gifts that He has lavished upon us for the benefit of others...those in our church and community. If you feel God’s nudge to help with Journey Care, we have a number of things to choose from. You can do one thing or as many as you desire. Here are some of the ways you can serve:
PRAYER TEAM
•Intercessory prayer through prayer chain.
•Praying with someone via phone call.
•Praying with those during our Sunday services.
•Writing prayer cards. (Cards and stamps provided.)
FOOD TEAM
•Organizing meals for those who just need a helping hand, due to sickness, new baby, funerals...etc.
•Set up meal trains.
•Making casseroles...to keep in stock for immediate needs.
VISITS, CALLS & ENCOURAGEMENT
•Visiting shut-ins
•Making calls.
•Writing greeting cards for different occasions.
TRANSPORTATION NEEDS
•Provide transportation to and from church, for someone who is unable to drive.
PROVISIONS & HELPS
(For different circumstances and situations.)
•Gift cards.
•Running errands...ex: getting groceries for someone unable to or for the elderly.
•Help with repairs around their house.
We want to build our church culture that emphasizes taking care of one another and making sure everyone in our church is cared for. It takes all of us with the help of the Holy Spirit.
